I joined Healing Hands Network after reading their website at www.healinghandsnetwork.org.uk and am fundraising so I can go out to Bosnia next year.
The Healing Hands Network was set up specifically to send volunteer care professionals to work with people suffering from the trauma and terrible consequences of war or disaster; many still awaiting news of their loved ones’ fate from many years ago.
For example: Since February 1997 teams of four members have worked in Sarajevo, Bosnia - giving almost 10,000 treatments.They have extended their work to Kosovo and Kenya in recent months.
Teams of Healing Hands volunteers are currently working to bring hands-on relief. Therapies range from Acupuncture to Osteopathy and Aromatherapy to Reiki.
I am planning to do some pamper evenings with proceeds going to the fundraising target I need to reach, which is £800. Plus I will be putting a perecentage of some of my work that I do towards my target.
Also I shall be begging friends and family to sponsor me!!
